Flying has been one of the finest pleasures in life since I began flying in 2000. I learned to fly in Washington state at Mission Aviation Training Academy, a school specializing in training pilots for missionary aviation. Flight training at MATA included cross country trips both to and from Alaska in a Mooney M-20C and a Cessna 182. After getting the commercial certificate, the school connected me with Kako Retreat Center in western Alaska to fly the same Cessna 182 for a summer. Flying in Alaska gives ample opportunity to gain invaluable experience and to put flying skills to the test. Finding the best fishing spots from the air is another great perk of flying in Alaska!
Currently, I am instructing at Command Aviation in Bellingham, WA. In addition to being a flight instructor, I have an Associate Degree in Aviation Maintenance and am licensed as an FAA certified Airframe & Powerplant mechanic.
When not flying, or busy fixing airplanes, I like to go hiking or fishing with my wife, or head West to the San Juan Islands. Although, with newly arrived twins, being a dad takes up my free time and then some!
