** 55 hours is an approximate average time required for ground instruction, flight instruction, cross-country instruction, high-performance & complex endorsement, and checkride prep.
*** 25 hours of airplane rental time is an approximate average necessary for learning the maneuvers with an instructor that are associated with a commercial license. This 25 hours also includes the cross-country time that must be met with an instructor. Most people spend additional time practicing maneuvers on their own without an instructor. This figure also does not include the time required to meet your 250 hours of total time, and the 50 hours of cross country PIC that are associated with a commercial pilot license.
